Join Our Team
We'd love to hear from you!
Now that we have moved into our larger clinic in Notting Hill, we have more space for new clinicians to join us!
The nuts and bolts of the role is to provide therapy to individuals, couples, or families (depending on your qualifications, skillset, and interests), and the completion of necessary administrative tasks, such as case notes or reports for Medicare/NDIS etc.
Why Us? Let’s look at the perks:
Happy Clinicians: We believe that happy clinicians = better client care. To ensure this happens, all clients are triaged, meaning clinicians only work within their area of interest and competence.
Induction program: We have an induction program designed to ensure all team members learn the operational ins and outs, so all the boring (but necessary) administrative tasks are streamlined, allowing clinicians to focus more on their clients.
Burnout prevention: We also have a burnout prevention caseload model, which includes a full-time caseload of no more than 24 client hours per week. We encourage team members to take regular time-off and discourage seeing clients outside of their usual allocated hours. We also offer early start/early finish, or late start/late finish shifts, so team members are not spending ALL DAY at work. And lastly, we monitor caseloads to ensure there is a balance in presentation severity.
More Perks:
YMM has a structured Career Progression Pathway to ensure that team members can grow as a clinician and have as much role diversity as they wish. Team members can choose when to coast, and when to hustle.
We also offer:
- Incredible administrative support (our team will attest to this)
- Individual support as part of our induction/onboarding process
- Group Peer Supervision
- A buddy to provide additional support as needed
- Access to a large assessment and resource library
- Reduced-fee supervision for Clinical Endorsement
- Flexibility to work in the clinic or from home
- Templates galore!
- Snacks in the kitchen, tea, and coffee
For Contractors: Contractor Remuneration will be discussed at the interview.
About us: YMM team members are skilled healthcare professionals who like to work, but also play! We believe in balance and ensuring that we prioritise our own self-care to ensure our cup isn’t empty, which allows us to be there 100% for our clients. We like to connect with our peers, problem solve together, laugh, and maybe also cry, and that’s okay because YMM team members are human, and we bring our whole selves to work. Speaking of work, we feel so privileged to be able to help those who are struggling. We know it’s difficult to be so vulnerable; to look at our own shortcomings, strengths, situation, and create meaningful change. This is something that we will never take this for granted. We are also committed to our own ongoing personal and professional development and take appropriate action.
About you: We are seeking a fully registered Psychologist, Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, and/or ACA accredited Counsellor (Masters Degree qualification required) to join our team as a Contractor. We do require proof of your AHPRA/ACA/AASW registration, and you will need to be eligible to apply for a Medicare Provider Number if you are an AMHSW or Psychologist. At present, we have clients on our waiting list from all ages, requiring different services (counselling and assessment) and therefore, we are open to catering to your caseload preference (e.g., working with children, working with adults, couples, assessment etc).
Where we are: YMM is conveniently located near the Forster Road entry/exit on the Monash Freeway in Notting Hill (a little suburb next to Clayton and Mount Waverley. Ever heard of The (legendary) Nott Hotel? We are next door). We are accessible via public transport and there is plenty of parking onsite and nearby.
Think we’re kidding? Too good to be true?
We have regular discussions with our team around why they love working with us and how we can work on consistently improving as a practice and team. Below is some feedback from one of our team members:
Maria Kampantais, Psychologist: “YMM offers an extremely supportive work culture. The best thing for me is that I don't feel like I am at work at all....I feel as though I am with family. There is so much support, encouragement, and flexibility and PLENTY of laughs! Having worked for YMM for the past 6 years, I see myself staying with the company long term. If you are looking for flexibility, a great work environment and a place to call your "work home", look no further!
To apply: If you think YMM could be a good fit for you, please apply by sending us your Resume and Cover Letter detailing why you would like to join us, your availability, what your ideal client caseload looks like, and a bit about you.
For more information, please feel free to email our Director, Laura Forlani, on laura@yourmindmatters.net.au
New Grads: We encourage any new psychologist graduates awaiting their general registration approval to still apply!
Provisional Psychologists: We thank you for your interest however, we have already recruited our provisional psychologists/interns for the year and are currently recruiting for generally registered psychologists only.
